GETTING STARTED

It is really important to get some sort of knowledge of hypnosis and stage hypnosis before attempting to hypnotize anyone. I mean, logically speaking, you should know what you are doing before you try to walk out onto a stage and expect to have people go into hypnosis. I would suggest that you do a few things read a few books and watch as many stage hypnotists as possible and watch what they do and how they do it. There is no better way to learn to take in what other successful people are doing and basically do the very same thing...with your own touches, of course. No one wants to go see someone do the exact same show as the other guy down the street. although I suggest that you learn and do what the other hypnotists are doing, it is equally important to say that you must be unique, be different, be yourself!

BOOK SUGGESTIONS:
One of the very first books on hypnosis that you should get and read through is "The New Enclycopedia of Stage Hypnotism" by the late Ormond McGill. This book will provide you with a lot of the basics on hypnosis and is filled with valuable information that you will return to time and time again.
I would also like to suggest that you get a book called "The Inside Secrets of Stage Hypnotism" by Jerry Valley. Now, this book is well written by Jerry Valley who is a very successful Stage Hypnotist. This book takes you right from assembling your audience right through the induction and includes many great routines to use in your shows.
Another book that I found to be very useful was also written by another stage hypnotists, Tom Silver and was co-authored by Ormond McGill. This book is called "The How-To Book of Hypnotism" and offers some great information on how to hypnotize people with instananeous inductions, and takes you a bit deeper into some hypnotherapy and even some healing with hypnotism.
If you are looking for an informative eBook that you can download, I would suggest one that was written by stage hypnotist, Alex Duvall. This book includes a great induction and assists the reader with everything including stage planning and atire. The book is called, "The Giant eBook of Little Known Secrets Of Stage Hypnosis" and can be ordered by going to my web page: HypnoRich.Com .

VIDEOS:
There lots and lots of videos out there and believe me, I wish I had saved all of the money I spent on those vids that promised to teach me everything I would need to know to just walk out on stage and be an instant stage hypnotist. These are mostly empty promises and I would suggest to you to save your cash! If you are in an area where you can go out and see an actual stage hypnotist perform, get out there and watch closely. See what the hypnotist is doing and how he is doing certain things. This is a great help when you are trying to figure out how various inductions work and which kind of induction will work best for you. You will also get a great view of how different types of audiences will react to this form of entertainment. Go see the shows!
If you are in an area where you don't get that chance to see other hypnotists, I would suggest that you order some dvd's or vhs tapes from the sites of other hypnotists and watch closely at what they do. You probably will not find too many who will include their personal inductions...usually they feel this is a guarded part of their show. You can gather some great inductions on the internet that will serve you well or use one of the inductions in the books that I suggested earlier. Jerry Valley has his personal induction printed right in his book, word for word.
Eventually, I will include a few inductions here that you can try out for your shows.
You can find some good videos of stage hypnotist online or on auction site such as eBay (type in Stage Hypnotists) but remember not to spend big sums of money for someone who is trying to sell you a course on stage hypnotism. Check with me, I probably have spent the money and can advise you on whether the product is worth the time or money!

Basically, it is always suggested to do your homework and plan on putting some real time into creating your performance so that you can walk out onto the stage being confident and proud of your craft.
